A RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF TAOS REGARDING SUICIDE PREVENTION MEASURES ON THE RIO GRANDE GORGE BRIDGE (2019).
This document is a resolution adopted by the Town of Taos requesting the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NM DOT) immediately add a vertical railing system, which was concluded to be the most cost-effective deterrent, to its Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) with a high priority ranking to prevent suicides at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
The resolution was unanimously approved by the Town Council on June 25, 2019, and copies were directed to be sent to numerous state and federal officials, as well as HDR Engineering, Inc.
